Since its creation in the12th century，A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains （Qianli Jiangshan Tu） has become verywith lots of people. 

A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains is one ofbest traditional Chinese paintings. Wang Ximeng is its painter. To people's surprise，he finished this paintinghe was only 18 years old. Unluckily，this painting is his only painting left. 

This painting is a typical blue﹣green landscape painting. In it，the painter used bright blues and greens toChina's beautiful rivers and mountains. After over 900 years，the colors are still as bright as new. The painting is about 12 meters long. It has six parts. The painter creatively linked（连接） each part with bridges and water. The painting not only fully shows China's natural beauty（和谐）humans and nature. With his great skill in painting，the artist showed Chinese people's love for life，their home and the country. 

There were some big wildfires in Chongqing last summer. Although they were1 ，we still saw many good people help in the big fires. Francis Stonier，a 43﹣year﹣old foreign2  from Southwest University，was one of them. He teaches English in the university. 

The3  was very hot in Chongqing. One Sunday night，a forest fire broke out and started to spread. The local government called for volunteers with special4  and experience to join in the firefighting.

During two hours of work，Francis group checked about 50 chainsaws8  gave them to firefighters.

Thanks to people like Francis，the fire died out very soon. 

"Chongqing is my home. I really10  my life here，" Francis said. "The people here are very friendly. I'm planning to live here for a long time，possibly even retire here. "

Wax printing（蜡染） is an ancient way of producing dyed textiles（染色纺织品）. It is an important part of traditional Chinese culture. 

It is believed that wax printing appeared in China as early as the Qin and Han Dynasties and got popular in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. There is an interesting story about wax printing. Once upon a time，a girl was fond of dyeing white cloth blue and purple. One day，while she was working，she saw a round white mark on the cloth. It looked very pretty. Her discovery later led to the use of wax in dyeing. 

Wax printing has many steps. First，draw some pictures of flowers，birds，insects，etc. on a piece of white cloth. Then use a special knife﹣like tool to spread melted（熔化的），put the cloth into a dye bath so that the unwaxed parts take on the color. Finally，wash the dyed cloth in boiling water and wait for the wax to melt

Today，wax printing is mainly used in some ethnic minority（少数民族） areas in Guizhou Yunnan
