One of my favourite things about spring is the arrival of different kinds of birds. My grandfather was a bird lover, so I 1 the bird watching hobby at a young age. And I've developed a great 2 of nature photography（摄影）at the same time.
Usually when the yellow warblers come back from the 3 in spring, they pass me by. I've 4 seen them around my home, but not on this special sunny day in spring. When I finished my homework, I put on a light jacket and went out to the garden to 5 the birds. While taking some pictures, I looked up and noticed this yellow warbler 6 my apple tree. Traveling by train can be a special way to see the world. It has a long history and some of the railways worldwide lead to faraway areas. Here are four fantastic train trips to add to your dream travel list. 1. Qinghai-Xizang Railway（Xi'ning to Lhasa, 20hours and 55 minutes） The Qinghai-xizang Railway climbs to the height of over 16,000 feet. If you book the ticket between April and November, you can enjoy better weather, with the wonderful sights of grasslands, wetlands and deserts. 2. Eurostar （London to/from Paris, 2 hours and 15minutes） Thanks to its high speed, Eurostar is a popular way for people to get from London to Paris. For 20 minutes, you'll actually be riding 150 feet underwater through the famous English Channel. 3. Indian Pacific Train（Sydney to Perth, 3 days） If you want to enjoy Australia's extremely barren（荒芜的）, but beautiful area, this train is right for you. You will cross a whole continent, from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean. 4. Glacier（冰川）Express（St. Moritz to Zermatt,7.5hours） This train ride is a favourite among many, as it might be the best way to experience the Swiss Alps（阿尔卑斯山）. You should be prepared to ride on 291 bridges, over mountain s and into narrow ways.

The Rickshaw（人力车）Run is one of the world's most unusual races. It lasts for two weeks and takes place in India. Each team has one rickshaw and one to four drivers. The rickshaw has to transport light loads（货物）in short distance, which makes the event such a challenge.
The race takes place twice a year: once in summer and once in winter. The route（路线）is different, but the length is always about 2,500 kilometers long. The race is a lot of fun, but it also has a task for all participants（参赛者）. They should raise at least 1,000 pounds for charity.
The first race took place in 2006 with 34 teams. Since then, the Rickshaw Run has become famous around the world. A few days before the race, if participants don't know how to drive a rickshaw, they will receive a crash course to make sure they can control it during the race. They can also use the pre-race time to decorate their rickshaws and ask any last-minute question.
"The adventure really starts when things go wrong," said one participant. "The wind blew a hole in our rickshaw, but I saw the most beautiful town in India!" said another. Just as the organizers say on their website, "There's no set route, and you don't know if you're going to make it. The only certainty is that you will get lost, you will get stuck and you will break down."

Did you know that when you surf the web, some websites may put secret software（软件）on your computer? The software collects a large amount of information about you and sends it to Internet companies. Then your information will be sold to other businesses.
First, companies collect your information and record all your online habits. They find out where you live, what websites you visit and what you do online. With this information, they can guess other things about you. For example, they can guess if you are a man or woman, how old you are and what you are interested in. Then these companies will show products or other websites to you.
Another way your personal information can be collected is through social media（社交媒体）. When your information is on social media, a lot of people can see it. Even if you don't use social media, a friend might post a picture or video of you with your name on it. This act of sharing could be a problem for your own safety. If someone knows too much about you, they can use your information to buy things online or post messages.
However, it's not all bad news. Rules are finally changing when it comes to technology. In Europe, for example, Internet users can now ask companies to show them what information they have about them and even make them delete（删除）it. If other countries do the same, the Internet could soon be a much safer place.
When the night fell, James, a middle school student, dragged（拖着）his tired body home. In order to save money to buy himself a new bike, he had been working for over a month. With one more week, he would have his dream bike.
Entering the room, James found his younger brother Adam sitting on his bed with tears in his eyes.
"Sorry. I did something wrong," Adam said in a low voice.
"What's wrong?" James asked.
"This afternoon I went to play football on the road and accidentally it hit our neighbor Mr. Black's car. I was so afraid that I hurried home without telling him," Adam said, full of regrets.
"Is the car seriously damaged?" James asked nervously.
"The tail light got broken," Adam said.
"It's truly your fault（错误）. It's really dangerous to play football on the road. What's worse, you shouldn't have come back without telling Mr. Black about it. You are such a bad boy," James raised his voice. Hearing this, Adam lowered his head. James added, "Anyway, it's never too late to mend. Now it's time to sleep."
When A dam went to bed, James couldn't go to sleep himself. He was sorry for his brother's behavior. But he shouldn't have been so hard on his brother after he did something wrong. Anyway, Adam was only a seven-year-old boy and what had happened really scared him. "Nothing serious. I can pay for it with the money I saved for my new bike." he said to himself.
The next morning, James took his brother to Mr. Black's house. Mr. Black was a little surprised to see the brothers. James told Mr. Black what had happened and drew out the money from his pocket. "This is all the money I have. I wonder if it can make up for your loss," he said.
"Good boys, I truly admire（钦佩）your honesty. Just forget my car," Mr. Black said. He refused to take the money but accepted the brothers' offer of doing some work in his garden.

Ethan Katz enjoys playing with dogs. His two dogs came from animal shelters（收容所）. For his （第十）birthday, Ethan came up with the idea to sell T-shirt s for City Dogs Rescue in Washington, D. C.
Ethan's parents are （两者都）volunteers for City Dogs Rescue. With their help, Ethan went on a website for T-shirt designing and money-raising. He typed a （文本）about his project, designed a T-shirt, and priced each T-shirt at $20. As word spread, many people （购买）the T-shirts. After a month, he had sold （几乎, 差不多）180 T-shirts and raised$2640. That money kept 10 dogs （离开）from shelters.
But Ethan wasn't finished. People continued to （打电话）his parents about buying T-shirts. So Eth an made a decision to run the project for （再一个）month. At the end of that time, he（设法完成）to raise $8,262 by himself.
Jodi Sirotnak, the manager of City Dogs Rescue, said, "Kids often feel as if they have no say in things, and Eth an shows them that they can have （真实）influence."

Everyone knows that good sleep is important, but not everyone knows how important it is （sleep）in the dark. A new report said sleeping with the light on （possible）increases the risk of getting some diseases. Even the light a television or clock could be harmful to our health. Sleeping in the dark is more difficult for the people live in cities, where there is a lot of outdoor light at night.
Dr Phyllis Zee is scientist in sleep medicine. She said it is healthier for us to turn off all lights when we sleep. The people who slept with a light on had higher blood sugar levels the next morning,（compare）to those who slept in total darkness. Dr Zee said this would raise blood sugar levels the light stimulates（促进）brain activity. John's1 0-year-old son Tony is quite smart and perfectly able to read. However, it seems to be a big challenge for him to keep on reading. Hello, John The fact is that a lot of children struggle（挣扎） with reading. However, because so many factors can cause reading problems, getting over them can sometimes be a hard process for everyone. That said, here are a few things you can do to help. Take one of the books you loved when you were Tony's age and read it to him or take tums reading it to each other. If he makes mistakes, be patient and don't judge. Make reading a regular part of the night-time routine. Just make sure you pick something that will hold your son's attention. Just because you're a mystery fan or read only history, it doesn't mean your son will develop interest in any of those things. In fact, if you are pushing your tastes on Tony, you are not really helping to solve his problems. Don't be a snob（自以为是） Most kids love movies. Did Tony like Ready Player One or Ender's Game? They are based on books. Staring with something your son is already interested in could help draw him into reading. If your goal is to get Tony interested in reading and improve his skills, what he's reading is less important than how much time he spends doing it. Kids who have trouble reading often feel that there's something wrong with them. So work with your son to come up with manageable goals and make a big deal every time he achieves one.
