How do you sleep? Most people sleep on their backs or sides. Do 1 sleep the same way?Actually, the ways they sleep are very 2 —they can lie down, sit or stand while they sleep.
Swiss scientists did a 3 on 250 different mammals(哺乳动物).They found that the animals'sleeping postures(姿势)had 4 to do with their body size and weight.
5 animals with short legs sleep on their stomachs(趴着睡),Their body shape is perfect for this posture. They also like to 6 their legs under their bodies. Rabbits and cats sleep this way.
But larger animals sleep differently. They lie on their sides. That's 7 this is more comfortable for their longer legs. Cows and hippos often 8 like this.
However, there are exceptions(例外).Small animals such as mice sometimes sit down to9 a short nap. Some large animals such as horses, zebras and giraffes sleep standing up. This way, they can quickly10 if they are in danger.
I think it's funny. They are trying to stop us from using TikTok, but many other social media websites(网站)are doing similar(类似的)things . I guess some people think that TikTok is invasive(有侵略性的), and can break down their smartphones. But TikTok brings me short videos that I want to watch. It's like they are made just for me.
I don't care about how lawmakers(立法者)worry about TikTok. For me, as long as people enjoy the videos, it's fine. I'm against this ban(禁令).

When I heard the news, I was very surprised and upset(沮丧的). TikTok shows interesting videos to more people and brings people together to have more fun. It also teaches us "lessons" that we didn't know before.
TikTok has changed so many lives. People make new careers (事业)out of it, and some even raise(筹集)money to help others. This app has brought happiness to so many people. It becomes a very important part of many people's lives.
Darlette Wilson, 19
I don't understand this ban on TikTok. It looks like the government doesn't want people from other countries to run media companies(媒体公司). But there are already a lot of newspapers owned by foreigners. For example, the Wall Street Journal, a famous newspaper in the US, is owned by an Australian. So why China? I want to know where the line is.
If the government is afraid that China is spying(秘密监视)on us through TikTok , they should ban every phone for sale on the Internet - because many of them are made in China!

After the school closed for the first lockdown(活动限制)in March2023, Finty Royle looked for something to do in her community to help people. When a restaurant wanted someone to send free meals to poor families, it was good for Royle. She rode 25 miles every day to hand out the meals. She said, "The children got very excited to see me every day. A family even drew a picture with chalk of someone riding a bike through a rainbow in front of their house."
Royle is now a volunteer for a charity called Magic Breakfast. It tries to give pupils in the UK healthy breakfast to help them learn well at school. She says the best thing you can have for breakfast is porridge because it's good for you and it keeps you going for the whole morning.
Royle and other volunteers wrote to the government. They asked for more money to spend on free school breakfast. As food prices rise across the UK, more families may find it hard to pay for school meals. Royle believes it is important to do what you can to help your local community. "You can do something helpful yourself," she said.

The husband answered, "My friend, I am not blind. In fact, I was just pretending(假装)to be blind. Because when my poor wife came to know about her illness, I realized that she was completely troubled by it and afraid. If my wife had known that I could see her ugliness, it would have hurt her more than her illness. She was a very good wife and I just wanted to keep her happy.
