As Grade 9 students, there are many difficulties in our lives and studies. What should we do in face of them? Shall we run away from them? shall we go out to deal with them? We must think (two)before acting.
First of all, we should regard them as challenges and face them bravely. It's a good chance to improve ourselves. Secondly, we must step out of our comfort zone and try (solve) these difficulties step by step. It (true)requires courage and confidence to defeat them. Nothing (be)impossible if we keep on trying. It is necessary and important for us to listen carefully in class and take active part in all kinds of practice. We should also cooperate with our (partner) or team members sincerely. Most importantly, we must concentrate ourselves while studying. The harder we work, the (good) future we will have. Only this way, can we become more capable and confident. There's no short cut.
Whatever challenges we may face, we should always remember, we study not only for ourselves, but also for our country--China! Strong youth strong country. Let's go on fighting we succeed. Come on, guys!
The first magazine in the UK especially for teenagers was called Honey which was about fashion, beauty and pop stars and was clearly girls. Nowadays, there are lots of different teenage magazines sold all over the world, but how much (change) over the years? We asked two teenagers to tell us about their favorite magazines.
I've had my favorite magazine, Teen Spirit, since it (come) out last year. There is lots of advice for teenagers on things that have meaning to (we) lives-such as exam stress and what you can do you fall out with your best friend. The fashion articles are cool because they show normal girls in normal clothes. It's really good value too, they usually give away a free gift with it, like an MP3 download.

I haven't seen many magazines for teenage boys yet, except for a couple of football magazines. For me, I'm interested in (compete) with others in Formula 1 (一级方程式赛车), and I buy FI Racing every month. There's online version (版本) of the magazine too. It's (cheap) than the paper version and you can watch videos and listen to (record) from interviews with writers and reporters.

On Aug 24, a children's play, Flowers in the Mirror, (stage)at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing.
Before the performance, children aged between five nine enjoyed a three-day (train) session run by teachers from QFun Theater. Flowers in the Mirror is adapted from fantasy novel of the same title by Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) novelist Li Ruzhen. The story follows a child named Tang Xiaoshan is searching for 12 flowers on a trip.
In addition to performing, the children also took on different (role), including assistant director and costume assistant, which gave (they)a better overview of how the theater operates.
According to Wang Nan, the producer of QFun Theater, who was one of the trainers, some of the children had no previous theater experience, but they worked (serious) at their parts.
It was the first time for the Forbidden City Concert Hall (introduce) theater training to its annual Gateway to Arts summer festival, which is one of Beijing's biggest arts festivals for children during the summer vacation.
Should kids use cell phones in school? There have been a lot of (discuss) about it. As we all know, kids do not need cell phones in school all. Some people may feel that kids need phones for safety (reason).
(one), there are phones in most modern classrooms nowadays. kids need to call their parents, they can use one of the phones in the school. There (be) really no reason for students to have a phone with them.
Besides, cell phones can be a big problem in the school day. If the school allows students (bring) their phones to class, they won't pay much attention (注意力) to their schoolwork because there are too many games and apps on phones. They can pull (kid) attention away from things they should do at school.
What's (bad), cell phones can also be another way that kids bully (欺凌) each other. In some ways, phones would just be another way for bad kids to hurt others.
In a word, I can't think of any good reasons why kids need to have cell phones at school. Phones would just be problem and could lead to more bullying in school.
Each different part of China has its own special forms of traditional art. These usually try to show the things are important in life, such as love, beauty and family. The most common things, from paper to clay to bamboo, are turned into objects of beauty.
According to Chinese history, sky lanterns were first used by Zhuge Kongming. He sent them out (ask) for help when in trouble. Today, sky lanterns are used at festivals and other celebrations. They (make) of bamboo and covered with paper. When the lanterns are lit, they slowly rise into the air like small hot-air balloons for all to see. They are seen as bright symbol of (happy) and good wishes.
Paper cutting (be) around for over 1500 years. Paper cutting sounds very easy it can be difficult to do. The paper, usually red, is folded before it is cut with scissors. The most common pictures are flowers, animals, and things about Chinese history. During the Spring Festival, they are put on windows, doors and walls symbols of wishes for good luck and a happy new year.
Chinese clay art is famous because the clay pieces are so small but they look very real. The pieces are usually cute children or lively characters from a Chinese fairy tale or historical story. The pieces are _(careful) shaped by hand from a very special kind of clay and then allowed to air-dry. After (dry), they are fired at a very high heat. They are then polished and painted. It takes several weeks (complete) everything. These small pieces of clay art show the love that all Chinese people have for life and beauty.

One morning. I was waiting at the bus stop, worried about being late for school. There were many (passenger) waiting at the bus stop, but some of them looked very anxious and (disappoint). When the bus finally came, we all hurried on board. I got a place next the window, so l had a good view of the sidewalk (人行道). A boy on a bike (catch) my attention. He was riding beside the bus and waving his arms. I heard a passenger behind me shouting to the driver, but he didn't stop we reached the next stop. Still, the boy kept (ride). He was carrying something over his shoulder and shouting.
Finally, when we came to the next stop, the boy ran up to the door of the bus. I heard an exciting conversation. Then the driver stood up and asked, "Did anyone lose suitcase at the last stop? " A woman on the bus shouted, "Oh dear! The suitcase is (I). " She pushed her way to the driver and took the suitcase thankfully. Everyone on the bus began talking about the boy had done, and the crowd of strangers (sudden) became friendly to one another.
A man was washed up on a small island because of a shipwreck(沉船). Every day he checked to see if there was a passing-by ship. He hoped that someone could help him, no one seemed to come. "Although I (lose) everything, I haven't lost my life yet. I still have hopes and chances", he said to himself. So he tried to build little house out of the wood. It could protect him from dangerous (animal).
But then a sunny and hot day, after looking for food, he came back and found the little house on fire. The smoke was rising into the sky. Everything was lost at that moment. It was the (bad) thing he had ever met. He cried angrily and (sad). However, early the next morning, while he (repair) his tools, a ship arrived on the island. Yes, people had come to save him. " did you know I was here?" the man asked. "We saw your smoke signal(信号)," they replied. What a (surprise) change life brings! So never lose heart, no matter what kind of problems you meet and wherever you are.
