Do you know the story of the Cowherd(牛郎) and theWeaver Girl? The Cowherd happened to meet the Weaver Girl. After some time, the Weaver Girl decided to marryhim and they had a family. When the Cowherd went out to work, the Weaver Girl weaved cloth(织物) at home every day. Later, they had two children and lived a happy life.

In fact, the Weaver Girl was a daughter of the Emperor of Heaven. She could weave colorful clouds to make the sky more beautiful. When the Emperor of Heaven found she was on the earth, he was very angry and ordered Xiwangmu to bring her back.

One fine day, a rainstorm suddenly broke out when the Weaver Girl was working.She realized that Xiwangmu came to take her back. She told the Cowherd what would happen. Then she had to fly away with Xiwangmu. The Cowherd tried to follow his wife with their children. However, Xiwangmu made a river called"Milky Way"with her magic hairpin(发夹,发针). Because of that, the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl couldn't get together. It's said that many magpies(喜鹊) fly to the Milky Way to make a bridge for the couple on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month every year. Then they could get together.

In 2021, a group of elephants decided to go north! After months of traveling, they made it 500 kilometers away from their home in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.

Asian elephants don't usually travel such a long way. The reasons are uncertain .Some believe it's because they were looking for better food. According to Zhao HuaidongfromInternational Fund for Animal Welfare, the number of Asian elephants is rising because of human protection efforts. So their old homes might not have enough food for them.At the same time, elephants are quite interested in the vegetables and fruit that people grow.

Another possible reason, according to Chen, is that they lost their way. Some scientists also believe that they were traveling because of migratory instinct(迁徙本能).

During their long journey, the elephants damaged 561,333 square meters of crops(庄稼). But we need to protect them. For the safety of both humans and the elephant, people fed them tons of food to guide them away from towns and cities. Seventy police cars and trucks were used to keep an eye on the elephants.

Luckily, the elephants came back to the living place where they used to live at last.

Why is setting goals(目标) important? Because goals can help you do and experience everything you want in life. Instead of just letting life happen to you, goals allow you make your life happen.

Successful people in life imagine how their life should be and set lots of goals. It's like having a sign to show you where you want to go. Think of it in this way. There are two drivers. One has a place to go to clearly in mind which can be found on a map. He can drive straight there without any wasted time. The other driver has no goal or map. But he drives aimlessly(无目的地) around, never getting anywhere, just usingup oil. Which driver do you want to be?

They decide what they want in life and then get there by setting goals and making plans. Unsuccessful people just let life happen by accident. Goals aren't difficult to set. and they aren't difficult to reach.  You are the one who must decide what to achieve and in what direction to aim your life.

Research tells us that when we write a goal down, we are more likely to achieve it.  They are harder to forget. Also when you write your goals in your own way, you are able to make yourself realize situations that will bring you nearer to your goals.

Some people say they are unhappy about technology(科技) because it takes up too much of their time. This isn't 1 for me. Let me tell you why. I'm the youngest in the family. Because my brothers are away at2 , I often feel lonely. Thanks to technology, I'm able to see and talk to them3 using video calls. Sometimes, I even chat with their friends if they4 to be around.

My brothers and I are also friends on the Internet. I can see how their colleges5 and what they are doing in their free time. I learn much more about my brothers6 with the time when they were at home. One of them is good at taking photos, while the other7 loves to be taken.

With technology, I can communicate with my brothers anytime I want. They8 a chat group just for the three of us. I often send messages to them, and they'll answer whenever they are9 . I often share my problems with them10 they often give me some advice. They also tell me that I should always write in good English, or they won't reply to my11 . I have been writing so much that even my teachers notice that my12 has improved.

In a word, I don't think that technology has13 wrong. For my brothers and I.technology has brought us14 Now we communicate much more every day. We can also15 what is happening in our lives better. Can technology bring us good or bad? It is up to how we use it.

Over the past several decades(十年), one of the biggest changes in Shenzhen has been the increasing height of the  buildings. About 40 years ago, Shenzhen was only a village with tew tall buildings. Now Shenzhen has many of them.

Look, there's the new train station. About 40 years ago, the people in Shenzhen could only  the bus or the train if they wanted to leave the city. Now they can fly from the city's airport. The train station is much  now and there are many more buses to take people to every part of the city.

Forty years ago or so, there were only hundreds of thousands of people living inShenzhen. The city has grown and now there are over 17 million peoplehere with more people coming every year. More shops have been opened. When Shenzhen was just a village, it  very few shops. But now there are different shops!

Of course, other changes have also taken place in the city. There are  parks,museums and places for people to enjoy sports, music and art.
