“I'm really thankful to our government, for it provides us with such a good training program. The training greatly helps us live 1. I will certainly study hard and learn the skills. Then I can help with my family difficulties and do good to other people.” a learner on the job training program said, feeling 2.
The learner's grandfather is nearly 80 years old, and his mother is 3 in bed. So his father, who is a farmer, is the main 4 of the family. The family is 5. The learner finished high school. The job training program helps him learn skills that he'll 6 in the work place.
The story makes me think of another 7. It goes like this: Long ago there was a man who liked fishing very much, and was 8 to catch lots of fish every day. The man was kind, so he always 9 his fish with his neighbours who did not know how to fish. One day, he thought that it would be 10 if he told them how to fish. So he called his neighbours together and showed them 11 to fish. Everybody was very happy that they could 12 the fish they themselves caught.
At present, there are still a lot of poor people in the world. But it's not good if we give only 13 to them. 14, we should give them a chance to learn new skills. So, a training is very important to people in need, and they will learn the ability to 15 money. People can learn a lot of useful things in the training program and what they learn can help them on the way to find jobs.

Would you like to adopt(收养) an animal? Although this sounds very unusual, some children have done just this. The Natural Zoo has given people the chance to adopt animals by paying for all of its food for one year. One of the animals that needed parents was a young tiger named Brocky. The people at the zoo said that it would cost about $900 a year for the food for Brocky.
Not many boys and girls have $900 to spend. That is why several hundred children and grown-ups(成年人) each have sent a little money to the zoo to help pay for Brocky's food. Some children sent in only a quarter because that was all the money they had. Other children sent in more money than that.
Since so many people sent money to the zoo to help pay for Brocky's food, he now will be able to eat as much as he wants. Brocky surely must be a happy tiger to know that he has so many adopted parents. Many children must also be happy to know that they have helped to feed him. It really will be thrilling(令人兴奋的) for those children to go to the Natural Zoo to visit their adopted tiger Brocky.
A. its food is too expensive for one person to afford
B. people don't want to spend too much money on Brocky
C. people don't love Brocky enough
D. the zoo forces them to do so
Every day in China, about 200 million children go to school. Many of them take school buses. What should we do to keep these students safe on the road?
On April 5, the State Council (国务院) published new rules about school bus safety. These new rules are stricter than the old ones.
Under the new rules, local governments must make sure that students go to nearby schools or boarding (寄宿的) schools to reduce traffic risks. Also, local governments must help kids in the countryside reach their school buses.
From now on, school buses have a speed limit of 80 km/h on highways and 60km/h on normal roads. While on the road, other cars must let school buses go first.
The new rules also say that school buses must never be overloaded (超载的).
There are many other rules as well. A school bus must have more than seven seats. On each bus, there must be at least one adult(成年人) tokeep an eye on the kids. Each school bus must have a fire extinguisher (灭火器), a first aid kit (急救箱) and a GPS.
Last year, a series of school bus accidents happened in China. To stop such accidents, the Central Government decided to strengthen (加强) the rules for school buses.
The most serious accident happened in Gansu in November, when a nine-seat minibus crashed. There were 62 children inside, and 21 of them died.
In the deserts(沙漠)of North Africa and Saudi Arabia lives the smallest fox with the largest ears. This animal is the fennec fox.
Fennec foxes have ears that are 5 to 6 inches long. That's big for an animal that weighs less than four pounds. Their ears help shed (去除) body heat. And, as you may have guessed, they also provide great hearing.
It's also interesting to think about the hair of fennec foxes. Why would a fox that lives in the desert need a thick, fur coat? Actually, the desert isn't always warm. During the nighttime, a desert can be terribly cold! A fennec fox's fur keeps them warm during those desert nights. They also have long bushy tails that they use as a blanket. And the hair on their feet protects them from the hot sand in the daytime.
Fennec foxes live in small communities of dens (兽穴).They spend most of the day sleeping in their dens, out of the hot sun. Then, when night comes, they come out in search of food. In addition to(除……之外) their great hearing, fennecs also use their great sense of smell and big eyes to track down dinner.
Fennecs eat both meat and plants. They like eating birds, eggs, insects, snails, fruit and leaves best. Fennec fox mothers have one to five babies at a time. Sometimes they are in danger. They have to be careful with predators (捕食性动物), such as caracals (a type of wild cat) , jackals, eagle owls, hyenas and humans. Humans catch them for their fur and to sell as pets.

Bill is only fifteen years old, but he's already very rich. Two years ago, Bill began a football website for young people. “I became interested in computers when I was 8 because my father's job is with computers. As a little boy, I also loved football and so I decided to make a website, especially for people of my age.”
Bill started the “Football OK!” website two years ago, and now more than 20,000 people visit it every day.
Bill is a schoolboy and a businessman as well. He usually gets up at six o'clock and looks at his emails. Then he goes to school at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. In the evening, he always works for about four hours on his website.
Bill's next plan is a new website, “At the moment I am thinking about a new website on American football, maybe for next year.”
Is Bill the same person that he was three years ago? “No, I am very different now. I have met a lot of interesting people on the website and I have traveled all over the world.” Bill doesn't know about the future. “Maybe I will sell the websites. I really don't know. I'll just wait and see.”
When he is 21, Bill will be a millionaire(百万富翁). He always says, “Anything is possible.”
