A warm-hearted man was driving down a country road one day when he saw a child struggling to lift a bale of hay (干草) off the ground. It _ (seem) that the hay had fallen off the back of a truck.
The man (attract) by what he had seen and he was a bit worried about the child, so he pulled over and went overthe boy. "Hey there, you look like you're having a hard time (move) that heavy bale of hay. Why don't you take a break now? I can give you some water and cookies," the man said. " After having them, you can go on. "
"No, thank you." the boy replied (polite). " my dad said I needed to move this bale of hay."
"Ah, but everyone deserves(值得) a break. Don't worry! Just take a few minutes to rest!" the man suggested.
"No, my dad saidwas really important to move this hay as soon as, " the boy said.
"Your dad sounds quite cruel (残忍的) and why didn't he try it by (he)! Can you tell me he is? I'd like to talk to him about how he's treating you, ""the man said angrily.
"Well," the boy replied, "he's under this bale of hay."
