Charity Ride
Two nurses from the north of England are going to cycle from Land's End to John o' Groats (raise) money for new hospital equipment. Joe Swain and Bella King are both nurses at Bradford Royal Infirmary in Yorkshire. The hospital (bad) needs a new running machine for the physiotherapy department, and Joe and Bella have decided to collect the money (they).
John o' Groats in Scotland is the (far) north you can go on land in the UK. Land's End is on southwest coast of England. Traditionally, the journey these two places is the longest in the UK. By road, it is about 1, 400 km.
So how long will it take Joe and Bella to cover the (area) from north to southwest?" We are hoping to do it in ten days," says Joe, "but perhaps we will need two weeks."
The two nurses (plan) the journey very carefully for a long time. They are going to do it in May the weather will be warm (they hope!) but not hot. At the moment, they (train) hard. "We cycle every day," says Bella, "and on weekends, we do a long ride—100 km or more. I'm getting very fit!"

David still doesn't know was wrong with his legs on that day. But he knows that his daughters were (hero) and thanks them every day for saving his life. He is a very proud father.
Once upon a time, there was a family with 8 children living in a village. Two of the children, both boys, loved painting very much, the family was so poor that it was impossible to send both of them to study at art school.

"Well," the boy replied, "he's under this bale of hay."
When teacher Margret Atkins, 39, went to ride her bike to school last Friday, she was shocked to discover it
(steal). When our reporter spoke to her, she told him that she'd been angry when she realized the bike was gone. It was quite old bike her grandpa had given her years ago. She said it was (valuable) gift she'd ever received.
So what did she do? She decided (write) a note to the thief and put it where the bike had been taken away. To her surprise, she (find) the thief had returned the bike, together with a written apology

Mrs. Atkins told reporters she was not going to call the police she was no longer angry. She was just thankful that she could go to school on her bike again. She added that she'd probably write another passage to the thief, "I want to thank him returning the bike and the tell him I've forgiven him. " She explained. "people sometimes make (mistake), but the important thing is that they own up to(承认) what they've done," she said.
Last Monday I went to West Hollywood for a business trip. Upon my arrival, I looked somewhere to park my car and then found a new parking garage there.
After I stopped my car in front of the parking garage, I was told that I didn't have to park my car (me). Instead, all I had to do was leave my car there as a robot would take care of everything. I was doubtful, so I did not leave (immediate). I watched there. Soon a machine came, which lifted my car and transport (运送) it somewhere in the parking garage. When
I (return) later that day, the robot found my car, got it back and returned it to me. After I came back from West Hollywood, I searched about the parking garage online and learned better about it. The parking garage is now only one of its kind in the world. The robots are used to transport cars there are controlled by computers.
The robots can leave (car) within centimeters of each other without any mistakes.I was amazed after (learn) about the parking garage. I hope more such garages (build) in the nation. This way, parking cars will become much (easy).
Alice Thompson, together with her friend, made a ride on a long-distance train from Sydney to Alice Springs. They (spend) two days and nights on the famous Ghan train.
The train was wonderful and comfortable and the food was great too. They tasted delicious meals were cooked by experts! The scenes were very colorful for the first few hundred kilometres of the journey. Then they saw desert and empty farms.
The people on the train were nice. Alice sat quietly and looked of the window, enjoying the scenes. Sometimes she talked to other (passenger), and sometimes sheen joyed (she) with books and music. At night, the night sky was so beautiful with the stars shining like diamonds she often watched it for hours.
