Maybe you have foreign teachers in your school to teach you English. But he or she will not keep speaking English with you all the time, right? During the travel study, you have to speak it every day and almost everywhere because you are in an English-speaking country.

Scientists predict(预测) that most polar bears will disappear by the year 2100because of global warming. There are about 25,000 polar bears. They spend most of their lives on the ice which covers the Arctic(北冰洋).

As the world gets hotter because of man-made climate(气候)change, the Arctic is warming about twice as quickly as other places. This is making the ice smaller and thinner. Scientists say that by 2040, the ice could melt(融化) completely during the summers. For polar bears, that's a matter of life and death(死亡).

In the winter, when there's ice, polar bears eat as much as possible, to store(贮存) up energy. But these days, there's less winter ice. And summers are the hardest time for polar bears. Because there is less ice to travel on, they have to spend more time on land. But there isn't much food on land.

The scientists believe that by 2040, polar bears will start disappear in southern areas of the Arctic, like Canada. In places like Alaska and Russia, the bears may start to disappear by 2080.

To help save polar bears, It's time for us to take rapid action to reduce the effect(影响）of global heating.

Do you know all the living things need to sleep? People can sleep in their (house) to keep safe. But to some animals, it's not safe for them

(sleep) sometimes. When they sleep, other animals may hurt or kill them. Animals have to think of many ways to protect (they) so that they can sleep well.

Seals(海豹) need to (breath) air, but that doesn't stop some of them sleeping underwater. They hold their breath and dive deep to sleep. It can help these seals get away from some (danger) animals.

Some ducks sleep with just half of their brains. They often sleep in a line. The ducks at both ends help to keep group safe. They keep one eye open to watch for danger. The ducks sleep deeply the middle with both eyes closed.

Some seabirds sleep while they are flying. These big birds spend most of their lives (fly) over the sea. They are in danger if they are on the water, they'll be safe in the sky. They can fly for many hours without flapping their wings.

Horses often sleep while standing up. Their legs lock (固定)in the place so they don't fall over. A horse can run from danger (quick) if it is already standing. If a horse is lying down, it needs a long time to get up.
