It is difficult for the parents of every family to teach their children1responsible(有责任的)for housework.
Shatian School in Shanghai is making its students2housework for their parents. That's their homework. Third graders(三年级学生)must3how to cook and clean, sixth graders do the laundry, and seventh and eighth graders cook balanced4with 15 yuan.
Many parents think it's a good5for children to try housework, but they don't know6to do it at home. With the following ideas, you really can get your children to help7.
If you want to make your children think that they can do8quite right, please don't scold(批评)them but give them lots of praise(赞美)at home. Talk more9what he did right, not about what he didn't do. If your child finishes some10work, give him or her a Sunday trip or a ball game with Dad as a reward.
There was a lovely vegetable patch(菜园). A large tree grew there. Both the patch and the tree gave the place a wonderful look, and they were the pride of the gardener. But no one knows that the vegetables and the tree couldn't stand each other. The vegetables hated the tree's shadow(阴影), because it left them only just enough light to live. The tree, on the other hand, hated the vegetables because they drank nearly all the water, leaving him just enough to live.
The situation became so serious that the vegetables decided to use up all the water in the ground so that the tree would die. The tree answered back by not protecting the vegetables from the hot sun, so they began to dry up. Soon the vegetables were really weak, and the tree was drying up.
The gardener wondered why and stopped watering them. When he did that, both the tree and the vegetables realized that it was better to help each other. They learned how to live in harmony with those around them. So they decided to work together, using both the shade and the water to grow well. After seeing how well they were doing, the gardener gave the best care to the vegetable patch, watering and fertilizing(施肥) it better than any other patch for miles around.
①The gardener worked on the patch even harder than before.
②The gardener stopped watering the vegetables and the tree.
③The vegetables decided to use up all the water in the ground.
④The tree and the vegetables realized the importance of helping each other.
Whether you're in New York or Beijing, getting into the subway usually requires taking out your public transport card or smart phone. But in one Chinese city, subway riders can now completely set their hands free.
Recently, one subway line in Jinan, Shandong Province has become the first in China to adopt 3Dfacial recognition technology(采用3D人脸识别技术). After downloading the required app-the Jinan Metro app, passengers can enter the station just by looking into a screen at the turnstile(旋转栅门). The process takes around two seconds, which is faster than scanning a QR code(扫描二维码). The new technology greatly speeds up entry times. According to a staff member at Jinan Rail Transit Group, about 30 to 40 passengers can pass through the turnstile every minute.
Today facial recognition is more and more present in our- lives. At KFC stores across China, customers can order their meals by scanning their faces in front of a self-serving screen, which has been around since 2017. With the ATMS of banks like the Agricultural Bank of China(农业银行) ,customers can withdraw cash(取现)by scanning their faces, without the need for a bank card or even a mobile phone. At some airports like Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, the security check(安检)process can be completed in about 12 seconds thanks to facial recognition technology.
Soon we will say goodbye to QR codes and get ready to enter the facial recognition era(时代)!
①Enter the subway station. ②Download the Jinan Metro app.
③Scan faces at a screen at the turnstile. ④Pass through the turnstile.

A new law in New York allows people to bring their dogs to restaurants. Some people think eating with dogs is great. They argue that it's good for dogs. They say owners don't have to leave their pets home alone or in cars while they eat out. But some people are worried about eating next to dogs. They say dog hair can create unclean conditions. Also, dogs can annoy (烦扰) customers by barking (吠叫) or making a mess. Should dogs be allowed in restaurants? Here is what two students think.
YES! As long as dogs are well-behaved (很乖的) and clean, there's no reason why they shouldn't be allowed in restaurants with their owners. When restaurants allow dogs, people can spend more time with their pets. That will make them both happier. If someone doesn't want to eat near dogs, he or she can eat in the private rooms of the restaurant. Or they can go to a restaurant that doesn't allow dogs.
Victoria Gonzalez, North Carolina
NO! Dogs shouldn't be allowed in restaurants. They can cause health problems. Some people are allergic (过敏的) to dogs, so being around dogs could be dangerous for them. Also, some dogs could annoy customers by jumping on them or stealing their food. Some dogs might even hurt customers. If that happens, restaurants may end up losing customers and money.
