Think back to a time in your life when you tried something new.
When I was a teenager I volunteered to pass out water at a local race. I was so excited to see all the different runners who passed by and quickly took a cup of water. Some ran past, some walked past and a few wheeled past.
I saw so many types of people doing it. I thought maybe I could do it too! The next year I decided to run for the race, but I had little running practice. I just wanted to finish.
On the day of the race, it was terribly hot. After running for about 5miles, I was thinking, "I must be crazy. Why did I do this? What was I thinking? "And at one moment, I said to myself, "I am never doing this again!"
That first 10 km race was quite an experience. I jogged (慢跑), I walked, I jogged and walked. At times, I didn't know if I could finish.
Near the end, a 70 yearold man ran past me, very fast, and I felt a little embarrassed (尴尬的) that I was more than 50 years younger than he and I couldn't even keep up with him. But then I realized something. He was running his race and I was running mine. How often in life do we compare(比较) ourselves to others when we really shouldn't? I decided that I would not give up on running races, and that one day I would be one of those 70 yearolds who were still running.
As I crossed the finishing line, I was proud of myself. I didn't regret (后悔) having such an experience.
①He regretted.
②He encouraged himself.
③He felt a little embarrassed.
Even if you think that your parents are too strict at times, loving your parents is a normal and happy part of life. Here are some ways to love your parents.
Tell them you love them every morning. A gentle" Good morning" and" I love you" will warm a coldest heart. Remember that they brought you into this world. Respect(尊重) more and value these moments. It's OK to get angry but angry actions don't help you or your parents. Cool off, keep a diary of your feelings, or talk to a friend. After this, share your feelings with your parents.
Follow their rules. It will make your attitude(态度) better and win you more respect from them. You're feeling bad when you don't get what you want. However, you'd better remember they keep a roof over your head when it's cold, raining, snowing or too hot. Maybe you can't do many things because of these rules, but think about it—there are a lot of things you can do.
Stay with them more. Do things with your parents like watching TV, or going somewhere with them. Anyway, spend as much time as you can with them. Listen to their old stories and learn from them. You will find they are your teachers in this way or another.
Some people simply may not be able to love their parents. There can be some reasons for this, family violence(暴力) for example. Ask for help if they beat you in any way. It's not right for them to hurt(伤害) you.
Stunt(特技) actors work in movies and television shows. They. always take the real actors' places to do some dangerous actions. Circus performers work just as hard as they could, because they also want to be the stars of the show.
Life as a stunt performer
Stunt actors must be strong. Many of them start doing this from martial arts(武术) and learn many other things such as horse riding and driving. Some become good at one thing, such as stunt driving. They try to make their performances look real, just like real actors do that.
Stunt actors work wherever movies or television shows are made. As we all know, Hollywood is the most famous film city of the world. And there are also other places working with movies or television, such as Vancouver in Canada and Queensland in Australia. Also, they often work in forests and mountains. Stunt actors left home to work for weeks or even months.
Circus(马戏团) life
Circus life is also busy. Performers need to be strong and flexible. Circus performers are not shy people and they enjoy being the center of the whole performance.
Many circus performers travel from town to town. They stay for a week, and then move on. And some performers even have no home. They live in large cars and go everywhere to perform. Circus families often travel together. The children perform with their parents sometimes. Circus children don't go to school. They study by the teachers' letters, or study with a teacher who travels with them.

Sleeping late can make you more anxious. Studies show that people who have a habit of sleeping for more than 9 hours a night are more likely to experience anxiety. So try to get up earlier in the morning.
Many studies have shown that listening to light music can help one relax. It takes you only a second to turn on the radio, but it will help you have a relaxing and wonderful day.
Perhaps you are afraid of taking exercise early in the morning, but it's one of the most effective(有效的) ways to deal with your morning anxiety. Give it a try once you wake up. You will be surprised how wonderful the morning is!
If you don't want to drink the green tea in the morning, choose water. It's good to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, and the first glass should be drunk early in the morning.
I hope you know that you should never miss your breakfast, and you should also pay attention to(注意) your eating plan. Don't forget to eat some vegetables in the morning. Don't let anxiety ruin your morning.
Find the best way to deal with anxiety as soon as possible in order to live a healthier and happier life.
She used to sleep on the sidewalk of the Fifth Street Post Office. I could smell her before I came close. She wore1clothes and her mouth was nearly toothless. I rarely saw her talk with others. If she was not2she talked to herself. I always had sympathy(同情)for her.3a poor old lady! She must be desperate(感到绝望的)and4.
One Thanksgiving, we had lots of food left over. I thought about the old lady. She might be still hungry. So I5the food up and drove over to the Fifth Street.
It was a cold night. People6go out on such a cold day. But I knew she would stay at the same place and I would find her7.
There she was, squatted(蹲着)against s fence(篱笆)near the post office. She was dressed8she always was.
I drove my car over to her, rolled down the window and said, "I've9you some food. Would you like some turkey and apple pie? "
However, the old woman didn't seem to be very10about this. She looked at me and said quite clearly, "Oh, thank you very much, but11gave me food earlier and I'm quite full now. Why don't you take it to someone else who12it? "
Her words were13and her manners were gracious(切的). Soon her head sank into her14again. I was the only person who didn't15what to say. An old lady who was clearly down on her luck still thought about others. Why don't more of us do that?
A little girl thought she was not as beautiful as other girls, and nobody liked her. So she was unhappy. She always stayed at home alone and didn't like to talk to(someone). However, her mother( give) her a beautiful hair clip. When she wore it, she looked much( beautiful) than before. She decided(wear) it to school.
On her way to school, she found that everyone smiled at her. Most of her classmates said "hello" to her, but this never happened. She thought that the beautiful hair clip had brought her to them all. She was so happy about all of the wonderful( thing). She didn't tell her classmatesher beautiful hair clip, but they all wanted to know what had happened to her. When she went back home after school, her mother asked her," Did you know you left your hair clip? I found it bydoor this morning." She knew that she didn't wear the hair clip to schoolall.
It is not important what we wear or how we look. The most important is how we think about ourselves. If we want to do something( successful), first try to believe in ourselves. If we think we can, we will make it.
