When I was in college, a white cat liked to show up on our campus from time to time. It was1that he was a homeless cat because he looked thin and weak. Students would 2 him after class and feed him all kinds of food. The school didn't say3about the cat for a long time.
But one day, we were 4 that one of our fellow students had an infectious(传染性的)disease and it was said that the cat was 5 the source(来源). After that, we were not 6 to touch any homeless animals on campus. The school started to take turns to keep animals 7 campus, too.
Since we couldn't feed the white cat, it was8 for him to find food on the street. He9weak and skinny. But 10the rest of us ignored(忽视) the cat, a security guard at our school decided to take on the responsibility of caring for him. He took the cat to a veterinarian (兽医) for a health check. He then went to a nearby11 and bought food for the cat, 12 a small bed for him to sleep in. He made sure the cat was13 and comfortable.
It might seem like a (n)14effort to some people. But this man asked his job-his only source of income-15 to feed a tiny cat who no one else cared for. It was a very heart-warming thing to see. If each of us can do something to help with things or people around us we can make our world a better place.

When you and your fiends turn to each other to talk about problems or trouble, you give each other advice and help. One important thing of our growth is to make decisions to help our friends and learn to support each other. This requires us to learn what it means to help friends and how to help them in right ways.
The first step toward helping others is to identify that they need help. We all know that difficulties are part of our daily lives. It's important to make sure when to help a friend. For example, you may pick up some signs that your friends are not acting like themselves. These signs show they may not be well. Of course, sometimes small things can lead to more serious problems that require more help, because you and your friends can't solve them. Then turning to a parent or a teacher is a good choice.
The next step toward helping others is to listen. Paying attention to others while listening is very important throughout our life. As listeners, we should try to understand what the speakers are feeling or experiencing and try to see things from their views. Listening and paying attention to others when they speak is a sign of respect and a skill.
The last step toward helping others is to give advice at a proper time. When we communicate with others, we need to lean when to speak and when not to. Sometimes being listened to is enough for your friends. They just want someone to understand them and listen to them. It's not necessary for them to get any advice. If you have some advice, you should make sure that your friends really need it.
Following the tips above can lead to deeper and better relationships between you and your friends.
a. listen to others
b. identify that they need help
c. learn when to speak and when not to
d. build better relationships with friends
Ancient poems, English words, historical events… you must have a lot to remember at school. What if you could have a good memory? Scientists have done a lot to find ways to improve Gar memories. Here are some tips based on their findings.
Having an intense(剧烈的)workout
Scientists asked people to either ride a bike slowly for 90 minutes or do it really fast for 6 minutes. It showed that the short but intense exercise made the brain produce more of a chemical called "brain-derived neurotrophic factor (脑源性神经营养因子广This chemical helps people remember things quickly. Its amount(数式) goes to the highest point after six minutes of intense workout. That's the tie when you should get down to remembering things!
Sleeping in a rocking bed
When we were young, we slept soundly in our mom's swaying(摇晃的) arms. Scientists have found that if we sleep in a bed that gently sways back and forth, we can have a deeper sleep, which improves our memory as well. So maybe, you could buy a rocking bed.
Becoming emotional(情绪激动的)
Emotions can have an influence on memories. The moment you become emotional, you can remember things really well. This is because the amygdala(杏仁核) in our brain is responsible for dealing with both emotions and memories. The brain wants us to remember what makes us so sad or happy. So next time you want to remember some knowledge, try to get yourself excited or angry. Then, just take out your book to learn new things!

Since the age of 5, Laura Lee has had at strange habit -she collects cardboard toilet paper rolls(厕所卷纸简). She didn't know this habit would one day become a recycling movement.
In 2018, Lee set up a goal to colleen, 1,000 kilograms of these rolls. She was then a l6-year-oldstudent at Nanyang Girls High School in Singapore. On February 2021. She collected 860kg. She received an Eco friend Award from the Singapore government.
Why did she choose toilet rolls? They are convenient to collect and also one of the purest forms of waste to recycle because they are made of only one material, "Lee told Singapore Today." It's more difficult to recycle pens because they are made up of too many different materials like rubber casings, metals and plastics, which require more resources to separate?
Lee went into a partnership with the waste management firm Veolia. The firm gave her money for every kilogram of toilet rolls.
She organized "toilet roll challenges" in her school and worked with cleaners to collect used toilet rolls. She gave speeches about what she was doing at local schools. She also raises awareness(意识) about different social groups through her Instagram Live series, "On A Roll".
One big challenge Lee faces is others doubting her because of her young age. "I always have to use my actions to prove that I know about this and I can do it well, "she said. She will give away the money collected to a social group on community health.
