You are always told to wash your hands before you eat. You know you must wash your hands after going to the bathroom. You should wash your hands many times during the day. Do you know how to wash your hands correctly?
Always use soap to wash your hands. After turning on the tap (水龙头) and wetting your hands, you can rub (摩擦) your hands with soap. Soap may not kill all the germs (细菌), but it can wash away the oil on your skin. As the oil is washed away, the germs will leave your hands and go away.
You should wash your hands for 15-20 seconds. How do you know the length (长度) of 15-20 seconds? You can sing ABC Song. By the time you get to the last note, your hands will be clean!
Rub your hands together. You can use one hand to rub the back of the other hand and then exchange two hands. You also need to rub between your fingers. Don't forget to rub under and around your fingernails.
Maybe your hands don't look dirty, but there are germs on them. Germs are too small for you to see. They are on your hands all the time. Many illnesses are caused by germs, so you should often wash your hands.
Many years ago, on my first day of middle school, one of my roommates turned to me for help. He took a bottle of water out of his bag. I opened it for him easily, and he thanked me. But I felt quite shy when he said thanks to me.
A week later, we started to receive military training(军训). We needed to gather at 6:30 a. m. every day. However, I was still in the bed at 6:00 on the first day. My roommate woke me up and I really thanked him. Luckily, neither of us was late for that day's training. Later, I had a talk with him. "Perhaps we don't have to say thanks to each other so often because we have become real friends." I said. He thought over my words and nodded.
Over the next three years, we continued lo help each other, but we almost never said thank you. For many years, I didn't think it was necessary to say thank you out loud. I also felt embarrassed(尴尬的) after I had been thanked for offering someone just a little bit of help.
My attitude(态度) towards saying thanks didn't change until I helped a group of kids. It was a tiring walk when I was on my way home after a day's class. Some little kids threw the ball onto the tree by accident while playing football. They asked me for help, so I did. Then tho kids said "Thank you" one by one with big smiles on their faces when I handed the ball to them. I was surprised, but it really made me feel warm at that moment. I realized the importance of expressing thanks from then on.
Showing thanks is a polite way for a conversation. It will let the other side know that you're thankful for his or her action. So next time, when you feel thankful, express your thanks bravely.
Have you found that it's hard to take your eyes off your phone? Are you afraid of missing any messages from your friends? If the answer to any of these questions is "Yes", you may be suffering from social anxiety(焦虑). But don't worry, here are some tips that are helpful to you.
You should stop worrying about what you may be missing out on. Instead, try to focus on(关注) the good things you have already been doing. Use your spare time to do things you enjoy, such as painting or playing soccer.
Setting time limits(限制) for how long you rend through or use social media each day can be helpful. Although the powerful Internet seems to connect us all together, the relationship it brings to us is not real.
Expressing your problems may help you find people with the same problems. You'll realize that you are not alone. You can also have a discussion with them and look for solutions together.
When you feel lonely, why not meet up with people in the real life? Don't lose yourself in the Internet. Take the first step bravely. Ask your friends out.
By recording three things you really want lo thank most every day, you can find out more important things than smart phones or the Internet in your life.
A. Do things you like.
B. Keep a thankful diary.
C. Speak out your anxiety.
D. Cut down the time you spend on social media.
E. Develop your social connections in the real world.
It was a lovely Spring morning here in the mountains of my home. The sky was blue, the sun was out, and the air was warm. As I drove along the roads I could see thousands of wild flowers in bloom. When I rounded a curve (转弯) I slowed. I saw some volunteers picking up rubbish along the side of the road. I smiled as I saw them doing some "Spring Cleaning" for Mother Earth. And my mind floated (飘荡) back in time to another Spring day long ago.
When my children were younger we used to walk around the lake near our home. One Spring day my daughter and I noticed just how much rubbish was lying along the path. The next day then we brought a big rubbish bag with us and started to slowly, step by step, pick up the rubbish along our way. There were plastic water bottles, wrappers (包装袋) for candy bars, empty chip bags, pieces of broken fishing line, and even an old thrown—away shoe. We stopped and picked up each one and even fished a few pieces of garbage out of the edge of the water. By the time we had circled the lake the bag was nearly full.
Tired but happy, we put the bag in an empty dustbin. We stopped before we headed home and took one last look at the lake as the sun set. It looked more beautiful than ever and I felt like the angels were looking down upon it with us and sharing our smiles.
I know that at times you wonder what you can do to make a difference. But the truth is EVERYTHING you do makes a difference! Every time you pick up a single piece of rubbish you make a difference. Every kind word you say makes a difference. Every loving thought you think, every flower you plant, every animal you save, everything you do, no matter how small, makes a difference in this world. Make your difference today! Share your love. Shine your light.

The master said to the boy's father, "You should leave son alone here. I'll make him into a real man three months. However, you can't come to see him during this period. "
Three months later, the boy's father returned. The master arranged(安排) a boxing(拳击) between the boy and an experienced boxer.
Each time the fighter struck(击打) the boy, he fell down, the boy stood up at once. Each time a punch(拳) knocked him down, the boy stood up again. Several times later, the master asked, "Now do you like your child?"
"What a shame!" The boy's father said, "I never thought he would be so knocked down. I don't have to leave him here any longer. "
"I'm sorry that's you see. Don't you see that each time he falls down, he stands up again and doesn't give up? If you want him this kind of courage, he does a good job. " Finally, the boy's father understood what the master said.
In China, when it comes to traditional clothing, Hanfu and Qipao are the most popular. Hanfu was first created for Han people. Its color, style and even the length are about Chinese culture. Hanfu first appeared in the Shang Dynasty over 3,000 years ago. It was popular for a long time in Chinese history from the Qin Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty. At the starting of the Qing Dynasty, however, it lost its popularity. With people turning their interest to traditional culture, Hanfu has been enjoyed more greatly in recent years.
Qipao became popular in the 1920s and remained as the "national clothing" until the 1950s. At first, people made it wide, covering most parts of the body. Yet it was not beautiful and people wanted a more beautiful kind of clothing. So in the 1930s, people made the traditional Qipao tight to show the beauty of a woman's body. Now, lots of women still like to wear it.
The Chinese tunic suit (中山装) looked simple but good, so it quickly became popular among Chinese men in the mid-20th century. Although other kinds of clothing have taken its place now, leaders of China still wear it when going to important events.
