My mother only had one eye. And because of this, I never wished her to show up in my school, being afraid that my classmates would 1 out I had an ugly mother.
One day during primary school, I was terribly ill. My mother came.
"Your mum only has one eye?" asked some of my classmates. I was so 2 .
I wished my mother would just 3 from this world. "If you make me teased (被嘲笑), why don't you just die?" I shouted at her, taking no notice of the sad look on her face. My mother just handed me some medicine and left without saying 4 .
At that time, I felt 5 to say it because I always wanted to say in this way, and I didn't think I had hurt her feelings very much. That night I saw my mum 6 in her room, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might 7 me. Even so, I hated her tears from one eye. I made a 8 I must study hard and leave my mother.
Years later my dream came true. I was quite successful and lived 9 . I never thought of going back to see my "ugly" mother 10 one day I got a letter. It said, "My son ... I'm sorry I only have one eye. When you were little, you got into a(n) 11 and lost your eye. As a mum, I couldn't 12 watching you live with only one eye. 13 I gave you mine. I was never 14 with you and I never regretted doing it because I 15 you ..."
I cried out aloud. Only then did I realise how beautiful my mother was!

①Imagine you can have phone calls with your favorite star. Is it exciting? AI humans might help with it. Today, AI humans are popular at home and abroad.
②As we all know, AI humans now can be like real people. They can do real people's voices and moves and even copy their personalities (性格). But what else can they do? And what can only be done by humans but not AI?
③Digital (数字) humans today appear in many ways. They can be idols (偶像), vloggers, reporters, and more. For example, China Daily has its own digital reporter, Yuanxi. She can speak English and report the wonderful world of Chinese culture. She can do with data fast. This can help the newsroom work faster.
④In February 2022, Chinese tech company Baidu showed its first digital idol Xi Jiajia. She can change her makeup and how she dresses, and even do live-streams (直播)! During China Fashion Week In September 2022, Xi Jiajia became famous in an online virtual (虚拟的) fashion show.
⑤"Virtual idols could do something that people cannot do in the real world, such as time travel," said Liu Qian from Baidu. Liu took the digital tour guides as an example. They can appear to be in different places and from different times in history.
⑥But AI humans have their disadvantages. Take Yuanxi as an example, she still doesn't have much human touch and EQ (情商). These are something that only a real human can have. What's more, virtual people can't team up and communicate with others in real time.
⑦As Yuanxi wrote, "Virtual workers show the power (力量) of AI , but they are not a replacement for traditional human workers."
①This spring, the most eye-catching movie might be YOLO (热辣滚烫). By Feb 26, it had made over 3.3 billion yuanat the box office, reported The Paper.
②Directed (执导) by 41-year-old Jia Ling, the movie tells about the story of a woman tired of the world, finding herself and learning to love life through boxing (拳击). The name YOLOis short for the movie's main idea—you only live once.
③Jia has tried many different roles in her life, including crosstalk and sketch performer, variety show guest and actress. It was in 2019 that she became a director for the first time, making her movie Hi, Mom.
④Jia didn't study directing at university. And she believes this is both a good and bad thing. It makes her feel freer in film making because she doesn't need to follow a fixed style (风格). To everyone's surprise, Hi, Mom made her the world's highest-grossing (票房最高的) woman director before 2023.
⑤Before making YOLO, Jia was often seen as an overweight comedian (戏剧演员). She often made jokes about herself to make people laugh. For this movie, Jia lost 50kg and looked very different. Some people online said even her voice became softer, and they call this a "rebirth" for Jia.
⑥In Jia's eyes, her change in identity (身份) and look is her way of staying true to herself. "It's hard to predict one's life. I'm just following my heart but not looking for changes on purpose (故意地). Movies are now the best way to show myself, so I put all my energy into them," Jia told Xinhua.
⑦"Jia didn't change at all. She's just being more herself," said talk show host Chen Luyu in her program A Date With Luyu .

Everyone may have bad emotions (情绪). But do you know how to deal with them? The following ways may help you.
It is important to know what is acceptable and what is not for others. You should not hurt others, even with words.
You need to understand bad feelings are very normal but your actions caused by these feelings will bring results. Taking three deep breaths or slowly counting to 10 can give you time to realise your body's warning signs—whether you have a tense (绷紧的) body or clenched (咬紧的) teeth.
Saying what you wish for helps you open a problem-solving conversation. Of course, your wish won't always be an acceptable solution for all parties, but you can work out a more peaceful solution together with whom you are angry.
It is okay to ask for help when you don't feel that you can solve the problem alone. Asking your parents or teachers for advice may help you find better ways.
A Ask for help to solve the problem.
B Take three deep breaths or count slowly to 10.
C. Remind yourself that it is never okay to hurt others.
D. Don't shout at others.
E. Use your words to say how you feel and what you wish would happen.
