One morning, I was waiting at the bus stop, worried about being late for school. There were many people waiting 1 line at the bus stop, but most of them just stared (盯着) at their mobile phones 2 . No one talked or laughed.
When the bus 3 came, we all hurried on board. I got a place next to the window, so I had a good view (视野) of the sidewalk. A boy on a bike 4 me. He was riding beside the bus while waving his arm. I heard a passenger behind me shouting to the 5 , but he refused to stop the bus. We realized that we wouldn't stop until we reached the 6 stop. The bus drove fast, and the boy tried his best to 7 it. He was tired, but he still kept riding. He was carrying 8 over his shoulder and shouting.
Finally, when we came to the next stop, to our 9 , the boy ran up to the door of the bus and said something to the driver. Then the driver 10 and asked, "Did anyone lose a suitcase at the bus stop?" A woman on the bus shouted, "Oh, dear! It's 11 !" She pushed her way to the driver and took the suitcase 12 . Everyone on the bus began talking about what the boy did, and the crowds of 13 suddenly became friendly to one another. Sometimes even something 14 can make a big difference! What an 15 experience!

Who is your favorite poet? For many, young people, the answer is Shel Silverstein. Shel's first book Uncle Shelby 's Story of Lafeadio the.Lion Who Shot Back was published in the1960s, , and since then his children's books have sold more than 30 million copies! Young people recognize that Shel really understood his readers.
Shel Silverstein was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1930. He began writing poems when he was young. Although he was best known for writing children's stories, Shel was creative in many ways. He began his career in the arts as a cartoonist in his twenties. He also was a talented singer, songwriter, composer, and illustrator. In fact, Shel illustrated all of his children's books himself. This is one reason the pictures seem to match the poem so perfectly.
Where the Sidewalk Ends, first published in 1974, is one of the most beloved children's books of all time. But what makes Shel's poetry so timeless and popular? His poems are often funny, and young people love Shel's type of humor.
In one poem, he told the story of a girl who refused to take out the garbage. It piled up higher and higher until it almost took over the town. Many kids have experienced the feeling of not wanting to do a chore. They love the feeling of being out of control in the book because they know that it would never happen that way in real life.
Shel also liked to play with language in his poetry. He often used skills like Alliteration in his work. Alliteration is the use of words that begin with the same sounds. In the poem about the girl who refused to take out the garbage, the character's name is Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout This type of Alliteration can make poetry fun to read aloud.
In 1999, Shel Silverstein died in his home in Key West Florida: Children and adults will miss his special humor and incredible imagination. As the media's words go, "Where there is a library, there are Shel's books. "

Have you ever watched a dolphin show in the Ocean Park?
Have you cheered for the dolphins when they show a few skills? Have you seen a dolphin swimming without a tail? Here's the story about Clever Winter.
Once, Winter tried her best to get away from the rope around her body. If she couldn't break free, she'd die. Rescuers(救援者) sent her to Clearwater Marine Aquarium(水族馆), where they fought to keep her alive. The dolphin was back to life finally, but caregivers weren't able to save her damaged tail. Winter ended up losing her flukes and the lower part of her peduncle.
Over the past six years, Clever Winter began to learn to swim without her tail. She pushed herself forward through water by moving from side to side-like a fish. The movement put harmful pressure on Winter's backbone. That's when scientists Kevin and Dan had an idea: the first ever man-made dolphin tail! The "tail" was strong enough to stay on Winter as she swam but soft enough so that it wouldn't hurt her. Winter wore it like a rubber glove. It did take her some time to get used to it. At first, Winter would shake it off and throw it across the pool for her trainers to get back-just like a game of fetch. But after a few months of training, Winter accepted the tail, and her back started to get better.
Winter is an encouragement to everyone. When a group of physically challenged children came to see her, Winter swam right up to them and waved hello to the crowd. It was as if she were saying, "Look at me! I'm like you!"
