    A beautiful actress called Rudy Lin finally got married with Wallace Huo in 2016. Many of her fans felt happy for her.

    Born on January 1, 1976, Rudy grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. She is the eldest children of her family. She has one a year younger brother and the other one six years younger. Her father was a businessman, and her mother was a housewife. Her English name was from her mother s love of the jewel'. When Lin was seven years old, her parents broke their marriage. She lived with her mother. She graduated from Ri Xin Primary School and Zhong Dian High School. She planned to goo to England to study after high school graduation.

    However, in her second year of high school, she first got involved in film and TV industry. So she went to have a try. She told herself that if her filming career didn't take off, she could still go back.

    When she received her first experience in front of the camera in 1995, acting a minor role, she became interested in acting. After filming her first TV commercial, Lin caught the attention of TV and film directors. In 1995, Lin received her first role in a film called School Day. The same year, she also acted as the supporting role in Taiwanese TV dramas. In 1996, Lin went to mainland China for the first time to film.

    She considered it as a valuable experience and the time that she began to learn about acting. In 1997, Lin became popular as the beloved Princess Ziwei in the series called My Fair Princess.

    In 2000, she worked in Hong Kong TVB's production of The Duke of Mount Deer with Dicky. Cheung, Shu Qi and other well-known performers. As Lin felt she had achieved all she could in television, she also appeared in three Hong Kong films in 2000. Since 2001, Lon has focused on her career I mainland China and became successful. In 2002, she appeared in the romantic TV series Boy & Girl which was broadcast throughout China by CCTV . With this series, Lin was selected one of the Top 10 actresses of the year. Of those 10 actresses, she was the only one from Taiwan. From then, she became more and more famous. Though her parents didn't agree her to be an actress at first, they finally accepted it for her success and passion.

    I remember the first time I got on a horse. I was two years old and we were watching a friend of the family ride. My mom agreed to let me take a short ride around the ground with the friend and that was it' I became crazy about having a horse. From then on, I drove my parents mad beg­ging for a horse. Whenever I saw a horse, I would beg even harder.

    When I was four years old, problems appeared in my life. I had Selective Mutism（选择性缄 默症）. This is an unusual childhood disorder（失调）in which children stop speaking in certain social situations, many times at around the age of four. I spoke to my parents as usual, my brother and certain other people, but was silent at school and in social situations. I went days, weeks, months without a sound at school. At most, I might very quietly speak to a friend.

    My parents looked for a cure. One psychologist（心理医生）had an idea. Having discussed his plan with my parents in advance. one day I was asked by the psychologist what I wanted more than anything in the world. He explained that I was going to be given a chance to work for what I wanted. I couldn't believe my good luck, but I could not answer. I just stood there. Finally, I was allowed to whisper(低声说)the answer in my mother's ear. "A horse," was all I could say.

    I was to get a little horse, but before we could even start looking, I had to try to talk. I had a chart of weekly tasks I had to finish. I had lo answer the phone five times every week, something I had never done before. I did everything that was asked of me and the day came when my parents found the perfect horse. His name was Sequoia, a strong little chestnut(栗子马). He was perfect ,  of course, and I fell in love immediately. It truly was a dream come true. When I was with Sequoia, I forgot all about my problems and felt strong and life.

    By connecting with them, I have learned to hug what I was once not able to do and I found my voice back.

Dog Pop Star

    The sheepdog Frank is a pop star coming from Australia. He is 5 years this year. He is black and white, it's very cool. He can ride bikes, skateboard, play basketball, dance and count. Besides, he even knows more than 260 words. Besides, he can also shepherd, and he helps his host to take care of the sheep and guide them to certain places every day. What an amazing dog he is!

The Elephant Painter

    Monica is an elephant from Africa. She came to China in 2002. She can paint very well. She uses her nose to hold her brush. She paints more than 10 pictures every day. She is good at drawing flowers and trees, and she even can write "I love you" with her nose. People like her paintings very much.

Police Monkey

    In Thailand, there is a special police named Peter. He is a monkey. Peter wears his uniform and walks on the street with other police officers to make sure there's no trouble every day. He also helps people do a lot of things, such as pick coconuts (椰子) from tall trees and sweep the floor.

Talking Elephant

    Kosik is an elephant living in a zoo in South Korea. He can speak seven words in Korean, such as "hello" and "good". Scientists say Kosik is the only elephant they know who can speak, so he gets another name, "Elephant Speaker". People like him very much, especially children and women.

American and British people both speak English of course. But sometimes it does not seem like the same language. In fact, there are some important differences between British English and American English.

Often, Americans don't say each word separately. They say several words together. Americans may say "I dunno" instead of "I don't know". Or they may say "Whaddya say?" instead of "What did you say?" However, the British are more careful in their speech. They usually say all the words and keep them separate.

Sound is not only the difference between British English and American English. Words sometimes have different meanings too. Americans drive trucks, but in England people drive lorries.

In England, if you are going to telephone your friends, you "phone them up". In America, you "give them a call".

There are also some differences in grammar. For example, Americans usually use the helping verb "do" when they ask a question. They say "Do you have a storybook?" But the British often leave out the helping verb.

Most languages are like this. Languages change over time. When people live in separate places, the languages change in different ways. This is what has happened to English. Many people in Canada speak French but their French is very different from the French of France.

    Ofo, a leading bike-sharing company based in Beijing, is present and also has been working on new technology to serve customers. Ofo, working with Huawei Technologies Co, has introduced a smart bicycle lock. It can be unlocked with a smartphonusing near-field communication technology, which is "even easier than scanning a QR code". Li Bofei, a business manager for the company said, "We are trying to make things even easier."

    At the expo, We Doctor Group shows a smartphone. It has a button(按钮)on the back to make things simpler and easier for elderly smartphone users. It allows them to connect to the company's Internet hospital platform ( 平台), which was developed in late 2015.

    Technology is changing our lives, isn't it?

    A soldier who was at war looked after his horse with great care. He gave it the best grass to eat and the cleanest water to drink. He kept its coat clean and covered it with a warm quilt on cold nights. As a result, the horse was strong and served the soldier quite well in the war.

    However, the soldier changed after the war. He made the horse live in a small and cold stable（马厩）and gave it very little food to eat. The stable had a leaky（漏雨的）roof and a floor made of mud; the water inside was dirty and muddy. The soldier made the horse work hard on his farm, carrying heavy things every day.

    After some time, another war broke out. The soldier took out his weapons and prepared to join the battle. He went to the stable to lead his horse. He laid a leather saddle on its back and rode on it.

    For a moment, the horse stood there and didn't move. The soldier kicked it. Then gradually, its thin legs began to kneel down slowly to the ground. The horse gave the soldier a look of sadness.

    "Master, " it said, "you'll have to fight on foot this time. You have made me work like an elephant and fed me like a sheep. I'm no longer the strong horse that you once helped me become. Can you see what you've done?"

    If you behave in a bad way, bad things will eventually（最后）happen to you, and if you behave in a good way, good things will eventually happen to you.
