Who Has the Real Problem?
A man is afraid that his wife wasn't hearing, she might need a hearing aid. So, he called the family doctor to have a (讨论) about this problem. The doctor told him about a (简单的) test he could use to get a better idea about her hearing loss.
"Here's what you do, " said the doctor, "Stand about 40 feet (12 metres) away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone to see if she can (听到) you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on (直到) she answers you.
That evening, the man's wife was in the kitchen (煮) dinner, and he was in the yard. "I'm about 40 feet away, " he said to himself. "Let's see what will happen. "Then, in a normal tone, he asked, "Honey, what's for dinner?" But she didn't answer.
So the husband moved (更近) to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife, and asked again, "Honey, what's for dinner?"She still didn't answer.
Next, he moved into the dining room where he was about 20 feet from his wife and asked, "Honey, what's for dinner?"
Again he got no (回复). He walked up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. "Honey, what's for dinner?" Again his wife didn't answer.
So he walked right (在……的旁边) her. "Honey, what's for dinner?""James, for the(第五) time, chicken!" his wife answered (生气).

You must have been 15 years old. Do you feel different from that when you were 9 years old? Are you wondering if you have already (长大) up? You may be a physical adult before you finish studying. Some people may finish their growing at high school, while (其他的)are still growing after they leave school.
Being an adult needs a long time. The more you experience, the(更快地) you become an adult. The book is about a girl called Olivia Hales who writes out the story in her (看法). Olivia has a plan to win a (百万) dollars so that she has the ability to look after her five-year-old sister Berkeley and her mum LeAnne. (自……以来) the start, her dad has been away and never returned any more. Olivia(继续) to send emails to him. But she is uncertain if he(事实上) receives the emails. Olivia meets a boy called Bart, who washes the(盘子) at the school Cafe. But they don't make friends in the end.
Everything becomes much(更坏的) when her mum works late to make money for a living. Meanwhile, Berkeley is kicked out of the day care centre they can afford. After(讨论) with her mum, Olivia (决定)to take Berkeley to her school and hide her in a closet. Although the situation seems hopeless, Olivia never thinks of giving up.
The cover of the book is(明亮的) and eye-catching, which is probably why I picked it. Overall, Unique and interesting, I recommend this book to you all!

Betty: I like playing the guitar. I think playing such a musical (乐器)is really enjoyable. But my parents think I spent too much time on my hobby. They want to stop me enjoying music, although we made a deal. One day I (不及格) my math exam, but I lied to my parents. When my father got the (真相) from my math teacher, he got so angry with me that he broke my guitar. I knew the reason why he got so angry was that he was afraid that I would get into telling lies. The next day I (道歉) to my parents for not being honest. To my surprise, they said sorry too and offered to pay the bill to (修理) my guitar.
Susan: I like visiting museums at weekends and on holidays. Visiting museums is another way of learning which can't be found in text books. (比较) with the museums of the past, you will find that today's museums are active centres of learning. People can learn about (通信)and the environment as well as physics and(化学), you can even do experiments there. Of course, there are some rules for you when you visit a museum.

I couldn't cook, so I ate sandwiches without other choice. Then I went to school and spent the day as usual. When I got home after school, I tried to cook something. It's really difficult for me. Do you still remember my best friend Jerry? When I met him, he was very young. But now he's grown up and has changed a lot. OK, now please listen to the general introduction about his changes.
